7 Little Known Secrets to Finding a Legitimate Work from Home Job

You’ll know as well as anybody that there is far more competition to get jobs these days, and it’s not just in the offline world that this is happening. People are flocking online to find ways of making some extra money so as to: pay the mortgage; feed that family; or any number of other important things that have to be taken care of.

The problem is that most 9 to 5 jobs aren’t going to give them enough money to do that now, so we get people falling over themselves to grab any jobs they find going, and that lets the evil people in who are going to try to take advantage of all of these people looking for a legitimate work from home job; so what can we do?

1)      Does this offer feel right?

There’s a very old saying about ‘if something seems too good to be true…’ and it applies even more so to work you may find online. If you’re being told that you’ll be able to make $1000 for mailing out an envelope you really should be asking yourself how and why you’d be able to make that kind of money.

There are a huge number of scams online that involve mailing things out, data entry, making small toys etc., and you need to be aware of them.

2)      Are they a legitimate company?

If you find something that looks good, but not too good, and you think that you’d be able to do the work, you should check that they’re a legitimate company.

Most businesses will be required to register themselves as a company, so doing a quick search should give you independent information about them.

3)      Are they displaying logos of trade bodies that you can check with?

If a company claims to be a member of a trade body i.e. The Better Business Bureau, then it should be easy enough to check with that trade body to see if this company has been vetted.

If they are with one of these trade bodies it should also be possible to check to see if they have any complaints on file about the company and the legitimate work from home job that they’re offering you.

4)      Searching in Google and forums

Ok, this is one that can mislead you at times, because competitors may have it in for a company, but, searching in Google for the name of the company, followed by the word ‘scam’, can often give you all you need to know about the service they provide for their employees.

While searching through the forums, for the same reason, you will often find fellow job seekers sharing information about companies who have been legit, and jobs that have actually made them money.

5)      Never pay in advance

Generally a legitimate work from home job is not going to require you to pay them so that you can get work and start earning money. There are companies that will charge you a fee for training, but very few of them are actually offering you a real work from home opportunity.

If they do ask to be paid in advance, and it’s something that you really want to do, then email them to ask what the money is actually paying for. You could also ask if you get that money back at any stage. If they can’t give you any satisfactory answers, move on.

6)      Small freelancing sites

Freelancing sites can be a great way of making some money, but, you’re always going to find that you’re up against a lot of other people when vying to get a job that’s been posted; so go for the smaller freelancing sites.

Before trying to get any job through them always make sure you know how much work you’ll be expected to do, so that you don’t find yourself working 12 hours to make $4, and, if possible, have enough ‘convincers’ ready so that you know you’ll have a reasonable chance of getting the work.

A ‘convincer’ could be a website that has all of your writing on it, or your artwork, or it shows off your technical skills as a web designer. People who are genuinely interested in hiring you will want to know how good you are, it’s not worth their time and money to have to train you, or, to have to go back and hire a new freelancer.

7)      Create your own legitimate work from home job

This one’s often overlooked by people because they think that it’s going to be incredibly difficult to do, however, it’s actually incredibly easy to do.

You’ll have to find out how the law works in your particular area, when it comes to the legal and tax side of things, but setting up as an affiliate so as to make the money yourself is really very easy to do. There are a number of very good books, courses, and programs that will help you with everything you need; there’s even one that will give you auto click profits.

So, when it comes to finding a legitimate work from home job make sure that you do your homework on any company you may choose to work for, sent up a number of ‘convincers’ if you’re going to try the freelance option, or, if you want to do it for yourself then affiliate marketing is going to be the option for you, after all, you want money and it’s going to give you the most of that from the options available when searching for that legitimate work from home job.

You’ve probably tried many of the ‘systems’ that are advertised online, and discovered that the only person making any money is the person selling the information to you, and that hurts, doesn’t it? You put in the time, the money, and what do you get at the end of it, not a whole lot, do you?

Well guess what, you’ve actually learnt about a very powerful system for anyone looking at work from home jobs: most of the money online is made by the person selling the information that you’ve been looking for. Just think about that for a moment.
